At Mama’s Joy, your child’s safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing baby and children’s products that meet or exceed the safety standards set by UK laws and regulations. All of our items are carefully selected, verified for compliance, and sourced from reputable suppliers.

General Product Safety Compliance

All products sold on our website are subject to the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, which require that consumer goods are safe under normal or reasonably foreseeable use. We take every measure to ensure the items we offer are compliant with these regulations and do not present undue risks to children or caregivers. Child Car Seats Every child car seat we sell meets one of the two legal UK standards:

• ECE R44/04, or

• ECE R129 (i-Size)

It is a legal requirement in the UK to use a car seat appropriate to a child’s age, weight, and height. Car seats must be installed according to manufacturer instructions and used with appropriate restraints at all times. We do not sell second-hand or refurbished car seats under any circumstances, in line with best safety practices. High Chairs & Booster Seats (Non-Car Seats) Our high chairs are designed for feeding and stationary use, complying with BS EN 14988:2017+A1:2020 for safety requirements and test methods for freestanding children's high chairs. They are intended for children up to 3 years of age who can sit unaided.

Our booster seats (not to be confused with car seat boosters, which are covered under Child Car Seats) are designed for use as seating aids in a home environment (e.g., table boosters), and comply with relevant general product safety standards for their intended use. These products are for stationary use and are not intended for use in vehicles.

Customers should always follow manufacturer instructions and avoid exceeding maximum height or weight limits to ensure safety during use.

Baby Strollers, Pushchairs & Baby Carriers Our pushchairs, strollers, and baby carriers are selected to comply with or align closely with British Safety Standards, including:

• BS EN 1888 for wheeled child conveyances (latest version BS EN 1888-1:2018+A1:2022 and BS EN 1888-2:2018 if applicable for tandem/multi-child)

• BS EN 13209 for soft carriers

Toys & Other Products

 All toys sold at Mama’s Joy comply with the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. Each toy is:

• UKCA or CE marked as required

• Age-graded where applicable

• Accompanied by appropriate safety warnings and instructions

• Intended to be used under adult supervision We ensure that toys meet safety requirements related to mechanical and physical properties, flammability, and the presence of restricted substances. Instructions, Warnings & Safe Use

All products include:

• Usage and safety instructions

• Age or weight guidelines

• Manufacturer warnings (when applicable) Customers are expected to read and follow all instructions carefully before use. Products should only be used as intended and under proper supervision.

Parental Responsibility

Even the safest products cannot replace the care and supervision of a responsible adult. Parents and caregivers are expected to supervise children at all times and ensure that any product is:

• Age-appropriate

• Used correctly

• Stored safely when not in use

Product Recalls & Monitoring

Mama’s Joy actively monitors product safety notices and manufacturer recalls via official channels, including:

• Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS)

• Trading Standards

• Manufacturer alerts If a product is found to be unsafe after purchase, we will contact affected customers and provide guidance or facilitate product returns/refunds as appropriate.
